U.S. Rep. Steven Fincher | | | U.S. Rep. Steven Fincher will be the guest speaker at Saturday’s Obion County Republican Party Reagan Day Dinner. The event is planned for 6 p.m. at the Eddie Cox Senior Center at 622 South Perkins St. in Union City. “I am looking forward to speaking at the Obion County Reagan Day dinner,” says Fincher, a Republican farmer and gospel music singer from Frog Jump who was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010. “On Saturday night we will gather to celebrate the strength and ideals of Ronald Reagan. He strongly believed in the U.S. Constitution and fully embraced its principles of individual liberty, limited government and the people as the sole authority of government. “President Reagan was a true leader who made it profoundly clear that freedom is a responsibility every generation must defend, or they will lose it. Throughout his presidency, President Reagan strived to fulfill the vision of our Founding Fathers. His tenure serves daily as a reminder to all entrusted representatives of the principles we must always strive to achieve.” Tickets are $25 for the meal, which will include barbecue, baked beans, slaw, potato salad, rolls, tea and dessert. To purchase passes, contact David Parks at 446-9538. Checks may be made payable to the Obion County Republican Party. Published in The Messenger 2.14.12 | | | |
