|Tournaments to begin |
day later than slated
Monday’s postponements of the District 14A, 13AA and 13A Tournaments have essentially pushed the original brackets back a day.
The threat of wintery weather prompted tournament officials to call Monday’s games around mid-day.
Thus, tonight’s 14A schedule is the girls’ quarterfinals with the boys’ quarterfinals set for Wednesday, which was originally an off-night. All games are at satellite sites with the higher seeds hosting.
The original slate will be picked up on Thursday with the girls’ semifinals at Trenton Peabody High School. The boys’ semis will be played Friday, with the girls’ championship, consolation and boys’ consolation to be played Saturday. The boys’ finals will be held next Monday.
The same schedule will be followed in District 13A — which had also originally had Wednesday as a non-playing night. The semifinals, championships and consolation games will be played in Clarksburg.
In District 13AA, the original bracket will be followed with the exception that the entire tourney will be moved back one night. Wednesday will be a game-night, as first scheduled, with the boys quarterfinals played now, instead of the girls’ semifinals. The girls’ championship and consolation will now be played on Saturday, with the boys’ played on Monday.
