First, I want to thank Mayor Brundige and Board of Aldermen for their confidence and selection of me for the Community Development Director position for the City of Martin. Martin has a strong sense of community and I look forward to being a part of it. I plan to engage local leaders, entrepreneurs, local industry, MBA, Historic Downtown, as well as residents of all ages. Identifying and actively engaging all of these assets will further develop relationships, wealth, and social cohesion not only within Martin but also as a conduit of resources beyond,” Thompson said. He served as U.S. Rep. John Tanner’s Congressional aide for nearly 15 years. He is a graduate of University of Tennessee at Martin as well as Murray State University.
