MFD extinguishes blaze

WATCHING AND WAITING – Members of the Martin Fire Department spent Thursday afternoon on the scene of a controlled burn of a trailer fire at Highway 45 North outside of Martin toward South Fulton that became almost too much for the property owner. MFD was called back to the scene later that afternoon to extinguish tree branches above the blaze. Firefighters spent a little more than an hour on the scene during the second call. MFD responded with two engines. The Division of Forestry also responded to the call.
