Hunter Hynds meeting held

The Hunter Hynds Unit of United Methodist Women held its January meeting at Stanley’s Chapel United Methodist Church with 12 members present.
President Chris Cheatham called the meeting to order, asked for prayer concerns and led in prayer. The purpose was recited in unison.
Emily Haynes read the minutes and Leanne Parnell gave the treasurer’s report.
Sandra McTurner presented the Prayer Calendar, read scripture from John 1:29-34 and used a poem for the prayer.
Mrs. Cheatham announced the following studies for the year 2012: Bradford United Methodist Church, Jan. 21; Medina United Methodist Church, Feb. 11; and Dresden United Methodist Church, March 17.
Each study will begin with registration at 9:30 a.m. and lunch will be provided.
Serena Blanton presented the Call to Prayer and Self-Denial program. The interest focused upon modern-day technology. Blanton stressed the importance of using technology for the greater good to support, connect and advocate. Participants included Becky Barnes, Sandra McTurner, Leanne Parnell and Emily Haynes.
Cheatham opened the floor for nominations for two offices.
Linda Winstead will fill the office of vice president, while Haynes will be secretary.
The next meeting will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Stanley’s Chapel. Published in The WCP 2.7.12
