Church plans Ash Service

Dresden First United Methodist Church will be hosting a special service to observe the beginning of Lent Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. Lent is the season leading up to Easter when Christians pause to reflect on who they are and who God is through reflection, repentance, prayer and self-denial. This is done through understanding Jesus’ journey into the wilderness offering  an appreciation of the true meaning of Easter and the resurrection, according to a representative. Everyone is invited.
