Completed arrangements are being announced for Jason O. Young, 89, of Union City, who died 6:26 p.m. Feb. 6, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Obion County Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Jerry Leggett will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Clint Workman, Cory Workman, Tim Wright, Steve Emrich, Maley Davidson and Jimmy Cooley.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today and 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday.
He was born April 27, 1922, in Johnson, Vt., son of the late George M. and Ruby (Parker) Young. He married the former Katie Kaufman  April 8, 1978. She survives.
He was the retired owner and operator of the former Young’s American Service Station in Union City for many years and had also been employed at the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
He served in the 15th Air Force in World War II, where he was a B-17 flying fortress bomber pilot. He was an avid wood worker and fisherman.
He is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Mike McCarver and Cheryl and Ronnie Workman, all of Union City; his son, Buddy Young of Memphis; five grandchildren and their spouses, Missy and Steve Emrich, Tim and Windy Wright, Cory Workman and Kayce Workman, all of Union City, and Clint and Emily Workman of South Fulton; and his great-grandson, Gage Wright of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Frances (Green) Young; two sisters; and his brother.
