TAKING IT ALL IN — A pair of native Union Citians and former Tornado football players — Jon Robinson (left) and Donnie Etheridge — were again part of the color and pageantry of the sporting world’s biggest stage at the Super Bowl Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Robinson, the director of college scouting for the New England Patriots, and Etheridge, a scout for the New York Giants, had a chance to catch up before the game while also visiting with several local friends before their two employers squared off in what was a rematch of Super Bowl XLII four years ago. And just like in that game, the Giants upset the favored Patriots, winning 21-17 after scoring the deciding touchdown with less than a minute to play. Both Etheridge and Robinson now have two Super Bowl rings apiece while serving in their present capacities with their respective NFL clubs.
