Power outage explained

About 1,363 Gibson Electric Membership Corp. members’ homes and businesses in Kenton, Mason Hall and the surrounding areas experienced an outage Thursday evening.
The outage occurred at 7:09 p.m. when service was interrupted to a transmission line serving the Kenton substation. Gibson EMC’s crews were immediately dispatched and restored service at 7:28 p.m. by transferring the load to an alternate transmission line.
“We apologize for any inconvenience to our members,” said Rita Alexander, vice president of human resources and communications for Gibson EMC.
