Family, friends gather to mark 100th birthday

Conet Colwill, a resident of the Obion County Nursing Home, recently enjoyed the company of her three children, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many other friends and family members as she celebrated her 100th birthday.
Party-goers enjoyed finger foods and fellowship with friends and family at Another Thyme restaurant in Union City.
Mrs. Colwill was born Jan. 18, 1912, in Blount County, Ala.
She recently relocated to live in this area with her daughter, Phyllis Logan of the Shawtown community, and has since become known to many Obion County residents simply as “Granny.”
Among those in attendance at the celebration were Mrs. Colwill’s children: Ms. Logan, Tom and Kathy Colwill and Dr. William and Karen Colwill; her grandchildren, Tommy Logan, Geneva Storey, Paula Logan, Roy and Melissa Logan, Dr. Jessica Colwill, Sarah Colwill and Jonathan Bumpas; her great-grandchildren, Beth Storey, Kirk Storey, Samantha Storey, Kristin Storey, Shaw Logan, Anna Logan, Reed Logan, Nathan Bumpas and Julia Bumpas; and friends and family, including Duffy and Belle Hufnagel, Kathy and Ken Favata, Roy and Anne Logan, Lauren Jones, Annie and Wayne Quinn, Dannie Cox, Norma Manley, Nancy Atwill, Joan Livingston, Aileen Anderson, Fred and Phyllis Pierson and Jan Peak.
