Wayne Baldridge, 91, of Troy died Jan. 28, 2012, at the home of his son, Jodie Baldridge of Troy.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with burial following in Cobb’s Chapel Cemetery near Troy.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today. The Rev. James Gunter will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Gant, Ricky Dugger, Matt Hale, Paul Wayne Cunningham, Chad Massey and Jackie Childress. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Treece, Popeye Diviney, Junior Holley, Pierce Criswell, John Cude Buchanan, Dewey Fitts and Watson Cherry.
He was born Jan. 24, 1921, in Obion county, son of the late Charlie Guy and Anna May (Davis) Baldridge. He married the former Beatrice Hayes Nov. 6, 1943. She died June 5, 1995. He was a retired farmer and had been employed at Crop Production Services for five years. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of Cobb’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Jettie Baldridge of Troy; four grandchildren, Ginger Massey of Dickson, Carrie Baldridge of Troy and Summer Wisdom and Sam Stuart, both of Union City; seven great-grandchildren, Brittney Cranford of Jackson, Matt Hale, Callie Hale and Randi Eaves, all of Troy, Jodi Cranford of Newbern and Brodie Wisdom and Braylon Wisdom, both of Union City; two sisters, Rachel Watson of Jackson, Miss., and Faye Baldridge of Louisville, Ky.; and two brothers, Ilar Baldridge of Charleston, Mo., and Glenn Baldridge of Troy.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters.
