The Sharon Library and library board of directors would like to welcome Ms. Peggy Prince as our new senior aide.
Prince is working through the Tennessee Community Services Agency Senior Aide Program. Prince conducted our story time last week. The children enjoyed two different stories, coloring activities and a delicious snack.
Attention job seekers: check out our resources page on our website, then click on “Learning Express” and follow the link to job search and workplace skills. There are several prep tests available including the “Compass Practice Test” and how to create a resume. When you create your personal account, it will let you store your resume in a PDF file that you can access anywhere there is an internet connection. While you are there, also check out the READS for downloading EBooks and the World Book Encyclopedia.  
The Book Buzz will meet again today (Thursday) at 1:30 pm. Please stop by and share some of the books you have read and join our book club.
Mark your calendars. Sheriff’s investigator Randall McGowan will present “Protect Your Identity” Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. at the library.  
The library will also host a genealogy 101 workshop Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. with Janice Crider. We will provide more information closer to the event. Remember, we are consistently adding new books and DVDs to our collection, stop by and check some out. Please remember to check out our website and Facebook for library program pictures and upcoming events.
We are having a candle fundraiser for the library; stop by and check them out! We continue to take donations of paperback, hardcover books, DVDs and VHS tapes. The library continues to offer faxing and copying for a minimal fee. We also offer free paper shredding and free wi-fi.
The library also has several different community items for sale, “The Last 100 Years of Sharon,” “Sharon 1997 Annuals” and our Sharon afghans. Please stop by to check out our ongoing book sale, books are added weekly.
Also, don’t forget about our recycling. We are taking ink-jet cartridges, old cellphones and laser-jet cartridges for recycling. The City of Sharon also has a trailer set up for recycling. Please remember this is for paper, cardboard, electronics and aluminum only.
