Carolyn (Harper) Fortner Arnold, 69, of Dyersburg, died Jan. 23, 2012, at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center. Among her survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Todd Little of Union City, and her sister, Sandy Owsley of Troy.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Dyersburg Funeral Home, with Rick Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Bowens Chapel Cemetery in Friendship. Pallbearers will be Dewaine Johnston, Pete Pleasant, Pete Riggs, Billy Carroll, Dale Woods and Brian Owsley.
The family will receive visitors 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was a homemaker and a member of West Dyersburg Church of Christ.
Survivors also include another daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Kevin Owens; three stepdaughters and their husbands, Tina (Arnold) and Ken Pittman, Debbie (Arnold) and Mike Sawyers and Janice Arnold; her stepson and his wife, Sammy and Patti Arnold; another sister, Ruth Simpson of Dyersburg; eight step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dan Fortner and Wendell Arnold; her son, William Michael Fortner; her parents, John and Ann (Taylor) Harper; and her brother, John Taylor Harper.
