| The Union City Municipal Pool is being demolished this week. The pool’s ticket booth, flanked by a pair of concrete columns, was brought down Monday and the rest of the concrete facility was being demolished by a construction crew using heavy equipment. The city pool opened in the early 1970s and was at one time a modern facility. City officials are considering building a new city pool sometime in the future to replace the pool in Graham Park. For now, the pool area will be developed into a “passive recreation area,” according to Parks and Recreation director Ken Morris. He said plans include setting up picnic tables and landscaping the site. | | | |
