KNOXVILLE (AP) — The new executive director of the Tennessee 4-H Foundation says he’d like to ease the burden on Tennessee counties that pay half the expenses for statewide events such as 4-H Congress and Roundup.
Ryan Hensley says he prefers for counties to use all their money for local programs.
The foundation is the financial arm of 4-H, and Hensley will lead fund-raising efforts.
He says he plans to tap into the vast array of 4-H alumni statewide for donations.
4-H is the youth development program for University of Tennessee Extension.
