COOKEVILLE (AP) — Bullying will be the topic of a conference this weekend at Tennessee Tech University.
The “Bully-Free Tennessee” free conference Saturday will involve students, teachers, lawmakers and activists. Sponsors describe it as the first of its kind in the state.
Student groups will be able to participate in the Department of Justice’s Student Conflict Resolution Team training. Tips for dealing with cyber bullying will be offered. Speakers include James Gilliam, deputy director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California, and Dr. Kathleen Airhart, Tennessee deputy commissioner of education.
