Beulah Wheat Posted: Thursday, January 19, 2012 4:05 pm The Messenger, January 19, 2012 Completed arrangements are being announced for Beulah Lucille Wheat, 90, of Union City, formerly of Fulton, who died Jan. 17, 2012, at Golden Living Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Sunswept Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Kinsey and Larry Hitesman officiating. Burial will follow in Hickman (Ky.) City Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Friday. Pallbearers will be family members. The family requests that memorials be made to Sunswept Baptist Church. White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born Feb. 12, 1921, in Obion County, daughter of the late Walter and Beulah (Watts) Bynum. She married Cecil Wheat Sept. 30, 1939. He died Jan. 2, 2000. She was a retired employee of Obernester Bottle Co. in East St. Louis, Ill., and was a member of Sunswept Baptist Church and the SOS group there. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cecelia and Earl Girdler of Mascoutah, Ill.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jerry and Janet Wheat of Granite City, Ill., Bobby and Wanda Wheat of Milstadt, Ill., and Terry Wheat of St. Jacob, Ill.; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including her niece, Opal Jones of Union City, who was also her care-giver.
