KNOXVILLE (AP) — A professor emeritus at the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture has been honored for his research into cotton physiology.
Dr. Owen Gwathmey has been named outstanding senior cotton physiologist at the Beltwide Cotton Agronomy and Physiology Conference.
For nearly two decades, he led research programs at UT covering diverse topics. National Cotton Council officials said his research has been used by the professional community and by countless growers.
The conference is designed to promote the latest research and its practical applications in cotton production and processing.
