Bessie Lee (Beachum) Wood, 92, of Hornbeak died Jan. 14, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Union City.
Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Sunday at Antioch Cemetery in Hornbeak, with the Rev. Pat Murdock officiating. Pallbearers were Ronald Baker, Chad Baker, Wayne Cranford, Ricky Cranford, Josh Murphy, Seth Johnson, Jimmy Beachum and Bob Alexander.
White-Ranson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She was born Nov. 23, 1919, in Obion County, daughter of the late John Grover and Clora (Davis) Beachum. She was the widow of Charlie Wood, who died in 1971. A retired employee of the former Salant & Salant in Obion, she had been a machine operator. She was also a homemaker and a member of Hornbeak Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sister, Pauline Cranford of Hornbeak; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Opal Orr; and her brother, Clyde Beachum.
