For 10 days in early August, students at the University of Tennessee at Martin will have the opportunity to learn from experience.
Scott Pun, lecturer of health and human performance, will lead students on an active excursion through Greece, the cradle of western civilization.
Students will have the opportunity to tour the Parthenon, Acropolis and ancient Olympia, the site of the classical Olympic Games. The trip will also include adventurous activities such as kayaking the coast of Lefkas Island and ascending Mount Olympus, known in Greek mythology as the home of the gods.
The trip is a two credit hour travel-study course and classes will meet weekly prior to the trip for preparation. Classes will discuss the history of sports, Greek culture and burgeoning outdoor adventure programs.
Cost is about $3,200 and scholarships are available.
