Three people have now been charged in connection with the weekend robbery of a Union City man.
Charged in the incident are Carl Patton Jr., 20, of 722 Broadway, Apt. I-4, South Fulton; David Polk, 25, of 1005 Fourth St., Hickman, Ky.; and Lisa Luter, 37, also of 722 Broadway, Apt. I-4, South Fulton.
Patton and Polk are each charged with aggravated robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, theft over $500 and aggravated assault, while Ms. Luter is charged with aggravated robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery and theft over $500, according to Union City Police Department investigator Derrick O’Dell.
Patton and Ms. Luter were both arrested Monday and Polk was arrested Thursday in connection with the Sunday night robbery of Christopher Yarborough of Union City.
Union City police responded about 11:30 p.m. Sunday to the emergency room of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City, where Yarborough was seeking treatment.
Yarborough told a police investigator he was walking in the area of Gibbs and Morgan streets in Union City when a white Dodge Durango pulled up next to him. He said two black men exited the vehicle and assaulted him, with one of the men hitting him with a silver-colored pistol. He was knocked to the ground and the men allegedly took his wallet and his Android cell phone.
After the suspects left, Yarborough ran back to his residence, where he was picked up by a friend and taken to the emergency room, according to a police report.
The police report noted Yarborough apparently was struck at least four times with the pistol.
The three suspects who have been charged in the robbery are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, O’Dell reported.
