Charles R. Bradberry, 85, of Martin died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at Volunteer Community Hospital, Martin.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at East Side Cemetery with Rev. David Brown officiating. Murphy Funeral Home, Martin was in charge of the arrangements.
Vernon “Rip” Jones, Roger Hill, James Graves, Tom Erwin, Matthew Washburn and Jason Sullivan served as pallbearers.
Bradberry was born May 25, 1926, in Martin, son of the late Elliott Taylor and Mittie Vivian Sullivan Bradberry. He was an inspector for Innilois Central Gulf Railroad and worked in the maintenance department of Volunteer General Hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Martin.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Christine Smith Bradberry of Martin; two daughters, Carmen (Larry) Washburn of Martin and Mary Bradberry of Memphis; three grandchildren, Sarah (Jason) Sullivan, Matthew (Rosie) Washburn, and Nathan (Jennifer) Washburn; and five great-grandchildren.
