‘LOG’GING MILES — The moving team from Carlos Lewis & Sons in Stewart County created a stir on Reelfoot Avenue and Everett Boulevard Monday as they maneuvered the Parks family log cabin that has been a popular feature at Obion County Museum on Edwards Street to its new home at Discovery Park of America. The cabin came from the Clayton community originally. The one-room school house, which was located at the museum as well, has also found a new home at DPA. The move was made possible with assistance from city employees who were on hand to make sure the dog-trot cabin could clear obstructions that might have clipped the upper reaches of the former dwelling. The structures have been placed on temporary foundations at the DPA site, within the shadow of the futuristic multi-story tower and rounded steel frames that define the under-construction Discovery Center at the 50-acre site across the highway from Union City Second Baptist Church and adjacent to I-69, which is under construction.
