| The Everett-Stewart Composite Squadron will celebrate its first-year anniversary as a local Civil Air Patrol unit from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the Everett-Stewart Regional Airport. Local government officials and the public are invited to attend this grand celebration, where awards will be presented to squadron members. Refreshments and food will be provided by the unit. On Jan. 15, 2011, the Everett-Stewart Composite Squadron was chartered at the Everett-Stewart Regional Airport. The unit began with 18 members, including cadets and senior members. During the year, the squadron participated in several community events, including the Everett-Stewart Regional Airport’s Air Show Extravaganza, the Soybean Festival, CornFest and the Banana Festival. Also, several unit members have received promotions and awards over the course of the year. “Please come and celebrate our achievements and future service to the community,” a spokesman said.
