Charles Codie Adams, 77, of McKenzie died Jan. 4, 2012, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was the brother of Ralph Adams of Union City.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McKenzie First Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Dennis Trull officiating. Interment will follow there at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at McKenzie Funeral Home 5-8 p.m. today and at the church on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of services.
Adams was born Dec. 14, 1934, in Dresden, the son of the late Alton Bryant and Elizabeth (Cunningham) Adams. He was a member of the McKenzie Industrial Board and the board of directors of the McKenzie Bank of Gleason. A real estate broker and auctioneer, he was also the former owner of Magnolia Manor Retirement Home in McKenzie and a former teacher and principal.
He is also survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Ann Martin; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Dr. Michael Adams of Birmingham, Ala., Dr. Kevin and Kim Adams of Murray, Ky., Jay Codie and Holly Adams of Edmund, Okla., and Clay A. Adams of McKenzie; his sister, Betty Chesser of McKenzie; his sister-in-law, Bobbie Adams of Union City; and 11 grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Caywood and Mary Grace Martin.
