The Northwest Tennessee Beekeepers Association is presenting a “short course” for intermediate and beginning beekeepers and anyone interested in honey bees Jan. 21 from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Dresden First United Methodist Church family life center at 105 South Church St.
The fee is $15 for a single participant or $25 for a family. This charge also covers a year’s membership to the Northwest Tennessee Beekeepers Association. A noon meal will be provided and door prizes will be awarded.
Applications should be submitted by Jan. 14.
For more information or access to an application, contact the association at www.nwtba.com or association president Terry Brewer at gctbrewer@frontier.com or (731) 819-2690; or secretary Ricky Richardson at ricklson@att.net or (731) 514-9922.
“The Beekeepers Short Course is an exciting and informative way to introduce the public to the amazing world of beekeeping,” a spokesman said. “This course will provide basic information on the benefits of honeybees to society, from honey to health, and guidance for beginning and maintaining a colony of honeybees. Those who attend will also be able to enjoy the fellowship of beekeepers of all ages.”
