‘Silent Flight’ event set

Everett-Stewart Regional Airport and the University of Tennessee at Martin are hosting a “Silent Flight” opening reception Friday from 5-6:30 p.m. at the airport. The juror, Diane Shaw, who is associate professor of art at UTM, will present awards during the reception at 6.
The exhibition will be open to the public at the airport from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Jan. 11.
The competition, open to children and young adults in the Weakley and Obion county area, has received 54 entries. Students from Union City, Martin and Dresden have participated.
Winners in three categories will be sent on to Nashville for the state competition.
The public is invited to attend.
