Commodity food to be distributed

Commodity food to be distributed
The Northwest Tennessee Economic Development Council, in cooperation with the United States Department of Agriculture, will be distributing commodity foods Jan. 11 and Jan. 12 at the agency central office located at 231 South Wilson St. in Dresden.
Distribution will be between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Those with last names beginning with L-Z can come on Jan. 11 and those with last names beginning with A-K can come Jan. 12.
Those picking up commodities must have a bright dark pink card. The agency will not take applications on the day that commodities are distributed. There will be no numbers given out  before 7 a.m.
Commodity distribution is a first come/first serve based program. Please be aware that due to a shortage of inventory of some food on hand, some people may not receive the same number of items as someone else in the event a food item runs out.
NWTEDC is an EOC and does not discriminate in services to clients on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, age, national origin or disabilities.
For more information on the commodity food program, contact Shirley Hawks at the Weakley County Service Center office at 364-2272 or go by the office on Wilson Street.
