Charles E. “Chuck” Slaughter, 78, of Troy died suddenly on the evening of Dec. 30, 2011, at his home.
There will be no services. Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
He was born Nov. 6, 1933, in the Latham community, son of the late Orville Slaughter and the late Odell (Bailey) Teague. He married the former Barbara Reynolds April 3, 1952. She survives. He was a musician and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He is also survived by two sons, Kenneth Slaughter of Troy and Mike Slaughter of West Palm Beach, Fla.; his sister, Linda Anderson of Flint, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Desiree Rerick.
