Benefit slated

There will be a benefit supper to assist Jim Foster, a 32-year-member of the Obion County Rescue Squad and retired Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. employee, Jan. 19 from 5-7 p.m. at Charlie T’s in downtown Union City.
Chili or soup will be sold for $5 a bowl and the meal will include cornbread or crackers, brownies and tea or coffee.
The Obion County Rescue Squad and Crewettes are hosting the fund raiser to assist Foster, who has cancer and is a patient at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He hopes to travel to Houston to consult with his cancer doctor, but a recent heart attack and the need for surgery has interrupted those plans. The family is in need of assistance and the public is invited to attend this event.
