The Col. Jeffrey Forrest Camp 323 Sons of Confederate Veterans and Gen. Otho French Strahl Camp 176 are hosting the 2012 Lee-Jackson Banquet 5:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at the John Tanner National Guard Armory at 2017 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City.
Tickets are $10 for those wishing to dine. Those who intend to do so must RSVP by Jan. 16, according to a spokesman, who said responses should be sent to Gregory H. Nail, Camp 323 commander, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Those interested may also call him at (731) 364-5659.
The meal will feature a barbecue sandwich plate with sides, dessert and iced tea.
The program, featuring Gene Andrews, chairman of the Forrest Boyhood Home, will begin at 7 p.m. and will focus on “Confederate Marines.” Former Tennessee division commander Ed Butler will also be addressing the guests.
Donations will be accepted to cover miscellaneous banquet expenses, a spokesman said.
