Thea Bond has taken over Fantastic Finds Consignment from Shirley Heintz.
Ms. Heintz had planned on closing down her business due to illness. Mrs. Bond and her husband, Terry Bond, had worked at the Union City Goodyear plant, and with the plant closure “it was a perfect opportunity for us to keep the store open and have a new career,” she said.
Mrs. Bond worked at Goodyear for 16 years and her husband had worked at the local tire plant for 13 years.
Now she is the new owner of Fantastic Finds Consignment.
The store is located at 1420 South First St. in the Obion Shopping Plaza.
Her husband is the manager of the business.
The local home decor consignment shop is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
The telephone number for Fantastic Finds Consignment is 885-8900.
On staff at the store are Libbye Hayes and Judi Dielman.
Fantastic Finds Consign-ment operates on a 50/50 contract with consignors.
As a consignment shop, the business has a constantly changing inventory of household items that includes furniture, lamps, pictures, kitchenware and antiques.
“People visit us and Scooter (a maltipoo puppy at the store) to have a cup of coffee or a cold cream soda out of our 1950s GE refrigerator while shopping for unique home decor items,” Ms. Bond said.
