A Martin man has his sights set on providing one-on-one quality bicycle repair service without the hustle and bustle of the big city atmosphere. With the opening of The Bike Barn on Nov. 1, Ken Leibold has been able to do just that.
Located at 300 Crawford Drive in Martin, Leibold’s business buys, sells and repairs used bikes by appointment. The Bike Barn uniquely provides personal service and education on bike riding and bike repair all within a casual and comfortable setting. In addition to buying and selling used bikes, Leibold also sells and builds custom bikes. His goal is to help people get out and ride bikes for enjoyment and health benefits.
Customers should give him a try first because he provides in-town service as opposed to driving long distances to get to larger places such as Paducah, Ky. or Jackson and spending the extra gas money.
Leibold offers tune-ups for $35 and can pick up a bike, fix it and return it to the customer personally. In addition, a cycling club is being started at UT Martin and Leibold recycles the bikes by making art pieces from them.
