Deadly Hickman County crash investigated
A west Kentucky man died and two women were injured following a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in Hickman County, Ky.
Walter Stevenson, 56, of Clinton, Ky., located in Hickman County, died after his vehicle apparently crashed into a car shortly after 6 p.m.
The Hickman County Sheriff’s Department reported a vehicle driven by Stevenson struck a car occupied by Kelly Williams, 21, and Amber Tuckers, 18. Both women were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities reported Stevenson was taken to a hospital and later died from his injuries.
All three people were reported to be wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
The sheriff’s department reported deputies allegedly smelled alcohol in Stevenson’s vehicle and indicated alcohol may have been a factor in the accident. However, investigators were still awaiting toxicology reports.
Hickman County Sheriff Mark Green was in court this morning and could not be reached for additional comment. Published in The Messenger 12.19.11
