The Obion County Sheriff’s Department continues to deal with home burglaries in the county, with two more incidents reported over the weekend.
Chief Deputy Kent Treece told The Messenger today Daniel Cleek of 2255 Marvin Vaught Road, west of Union City, reported Sunday morning that someone had attempted to gain entry to his residence through a back door. Treece said no entry was gained to the residence, but the incident appeared to be related to a recent rash of burglaries in the county.
He said the incident on Marvin Vaught Road and another incident over the weekend north of Union City had the same characteristics.
Tessia Land of 6243 Harris Road reported to the sheriff’s department on Saturday that someone forcibly entered her home sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday. Taken in the home burglary were two 32-inch flat screen televisions and three Christmas gifts, described as “stocking stuffers” and valued at a total of $100. The two televisions were valued at $200 each, according to Treece.
Anyone with information about these two recent incidents or any of the recent home burglaries in Obion County is encouraged to contact the Obion County Sheriff’s Department at 885-5832 or Crime Stoppers at 885-TIPS (885-8477).
