Rotary names officer of the year

DRESDEN POLICE OFFICER OF THE YEAR – Rotary International of Dresden is now sponsoring a Police Officer of the Year Award and the first recipient of the honor is officer Elizabeth Woods. She is a graduate of the Memphis Police Academy, has served with the DPD for four years and recently became certified as both a D.A.R.E. and school resource officer. “Elizabeth is always willing to work and is very deserving of the honor,” Dresden Police Chief Randal Walker said. Woods was presented with the award Monday afternoon at the Dresden Police Station. She was presented with the award by Rotary president Kevin McAlpin (center) and secretary Jake Bynum.
