Martin native authors children's picture book | Jeff Kurrus, "Have You Seen Mary?"

A Martin native and nature enthusiast has penned an illustrative children’s book depicting the struggles of one species of migratory birds seen throughout Northwest Tennessee.
Jeff Kurrus, a former Westview High School teacher, has crafted a tale of a sandhill cranes search for his partner in “Have You Seen Mary?”
Throughout the pictorial, the reader will discover a glimpse into the life of the migratory creature and one bird’s emotional journey while searching for Mary.
Kurrus taught at WHS from 2003-06. He is currently serving as associate editor for “NEBRASKAland Magazine,” an outdoor publication of Nebraska.
Kurrus will visit his former home when he travels to Martin to sign copies of his pictorial.
A book signing is set from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 22 at the C.E. Weldon Public Library in downtown Martin. Copies of the book will also be available for $16.99.
Photography featured throughout the book is courtesy of Michael Forsberg.
