David Anthony Caldwell, 59, of Walnut, Miss., father of Anthony Caldwell and Christina Caldwell, both of Union City, died Dec. 11, 2011, at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Corinth, Miss.
Services were set for 1 p.m. today at Ripley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Roger Dale Wilbanks officiating and burial following in State Line Cemetery.
Pallbearers were to be Mike Rixie, Tim Mullins, Robert Nichols, Shon Mullins, Frankie Jackson and Bengie Mullins. Honorary pallbearers were to be Scott Caldwell, John Caldwell, Justin Caldwell, Tommy Burton, Mark Burton, Kevin Jones, John Jones and Andrew Jones.
He was born Sept. 15, 1952, son of Billie Ruth Caldwell of Walnut and the late Jimmy Caldwell. He had been employed at the former Reelfoot Packing Co. in Union City and at Jimmy Dean Foods and had worked as a pipe welder. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors also include another daughter, Tina Caldwell of Tupelo, Miss.; another son, Elijah Caldwell of Walnut; two sisters, Becky Jones of Lake City, Fla., and Jona Rixie of Walnut; two brothers, Ronnie Caldwell of Tiplersville, Miss., and Jerry Caldwell of Chalybeate, Miss.; and four grandchildren.
