The Sharon Church of Christ hosted its annual widow/widowers Christmas luncheon Saturday. This was the 33rd consecutive year the members held this event.
The fellowship hall was gaily decorated and the tables were set with Santas, poinsettias and candles.
Guests were greeted at the door and given name tags. When everyone was seated, Coleman Hamlin blessed the food.
After a meal of turkey, dressing and all the trimmings, guests enjoyed singing Christmas songs led by James Gary Roberts.
They were given candy canes with numbers attached and, when their number was called, they received a gift.
Guests were asked to guess how many M&Ms® were in a jar. Justine Bell came closest to the number and received the door prize.
When guests were ready to leave they were told they could take home one of the small Santas that decorated the tables.
Larry Powers led the group in closing prayer.
Those present for the occasion were Faye Alderson, Bell, Sue Brewer, Frances Clark, Rosie Connell, Ruby Nell Moore, Marie Croom, Jean Dunn, Aileen Edwards, Elsie Essary, Robbie Elliott, Carolyn Lowrance, Lois Betts Robey, Phyllis Rogers, Mertie Smith, Ophelia Taylor, Pauline Tharpe, Evelyn Trowhill, Lorene White, May Yarbrough and Martha Mosley.
