Marie Warford Posted: Friday, December 9, 2011 3:09 pm The Messenger, December 9, 2011 Completed arrangements are being announced for Marie Warford, 80, of Union City, who died Dec. 8, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Services will be Tuesday at noon at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Union City, with the Rev. A.E. McCadney officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. Friends may call at Rawls Funeral Home in Union City Monday evening from 3-6 for viewing. Family hour will be 6-7 p.m. She was born June 11, 1931, in South Fulton, daughter of the late Sammie (Thompson) and Herbert Johnson Sr. She graduated from the former Webb High School in McKenzie. She was the widow of Ira Bingham and she married James Warford in 1999. She is survived by five stepdaughters and three sons-in-law, Barbara Dixon of Niles, Mich., Janette and James Beckett of Fishers, Ind., Sharon and Norman Britton of Covington, Ga., and Cynthia Warford and Lisa and Donnie Taylor, all of Union City; three stepsons and two daughters-in-law, Richard Warford and Michael and Arlene Warford, all of Union City, and Timothy and Toni Warford of Paducah, Ky.; two brothers, Earl Johnson of Union City and Herbert Johnson Jr. of South Fulton; two sisters, Bertha Mitchell of Carbondale, Ill., and Pearl Partee of Chicago; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, Rudy Bass; two brothers, Charles Johnson and Archie Johnson; and her sister, Relma Woods.
