Completed arrangements are being announced for E.C. Ragsdale, 80, of Union City, who died 11:45 p.m. Dec. 7, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Bobby Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-laws.
He was born May 13, 1931, in Obion County, son of the late Herman and Mintie (Sullivan) Ragsdale. He married the former Shirley Ivy Dec. 25, 1969. She survives. He was a truck driver for the former Reelfoot Packing Co. and was the owner and operator of the former Ragsdale Grocery and the former Colony Market for a number of years. He was a member of Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served in the Tennessee National Guard from 1947-1950.
He is also survived by two sons and his daughter-in-law, Jeff and Denise Stover of Paducah, Ky., and Brent Stover of Union City; three daughters and sons-in-law, Fretta and Pete Quinton and Renea and Robbie White, all of Union City, and Darlene and Chad Fultz of Obion; his sister, Margie Chessor of Union City; 11 grandchildren, Richard Ragsdale, Jason Quinton, Melanie French, Ty Ragsdale, Michelle Phipps, Brett Ragsdale, Carly White, Robert White, Ivy Fultz, Peyton Stover and Avery Stover; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Ricky Ragsdale; two brothers, Harvey Ragsdale and Hugh Ragsdale; and four sisters, Joanne McMillin, Inez Burrell, Mildred Wilbanks and Janie Tilghman.
