Winners have been announced from the Dec. 1 Union City Christmas parade.
There were two divisions — floats and vehicles — and the winners were:
• Float — First place, Fulton County (Ky.) Detention Center; second place, U Jump Inflatables; and third place, First Choice Farm and Lawn.
• Vehicle — First place, White Christmas; second place, Rizpah Shrine Club; and third place, Charlie Conn.
Obion County Central High School was chosen Best Band, according to parade chairman Ron Parks of the sponsoring Union City Jaycees.
The parade judges were from out of town and had no affiliation with the parade. Parks said there were over 100 units entered in the parade. The entries included over 80 which pre-registered and then numerous emergency vehicles and other vehicles which joined the lineup the night of the parade.
“Everybody I talked to said it was the best parade in over 20 years,” Parks added.
