Ladies the holidays are here once again! That means Christmas parties, family get- togethers, and New Year’s Eve fun. We all know the inner diva in all of us always wants to look FAB-U-LOUS; so here are a couple tips from the style team at Studio 311 to make your look extra special!
* Tip 1: The Smoky Eye
For that extra va-va-voom, apply a dark shadow to your lid, preferably a black or gray, but any dark color will work. Tap excess shadow off your make-up brush before applying – we want a “smoky” eye and not a black eye!
Blend color from lid to brow bone, then apply a neutral shade underneath the arch of your eyebrow and complete with a light shimmer across the brow bone.
Finish your look with dark liner on the top and bottom lid then smudge slightly with an eye-liner brush.
 * Tip 2: Movie Star Eyelashes
For those gorgeous lashes you see in the Revlon commercials without applying those hard to use fakes! You need a lengthening mascara, it doesn’t matter what brand, it is your preference.
Apply four to five strokes to the inner lashes, then a couple of strokes to the outer lashes.
When applying to outer lashes, as you work your way up, take the tip of mascara brush and pull lashes outward. Lastly, dab excess mascara on tissue then apply it to the bottom lashes.
 * Tip 3: Side Swept Up-Do
We all love those cute little side buns, especially because they look chic and don’t take a lot of time. This look will work if your hair is straight or done in curls. When doing an up-do, your hair always does best when it’s at least one day dirty! Start by applying a volumizing dry shampoo to your roots – it helps cut oil in the hair and gives you that height every Southern girl loves. We use Big Sexy Hair Dry Shampoo.
Tease roots with a comb using the end where the bristles are close together, then lightly smooth with a brush, making sure to not brush out the tease.
Pull hair to the side you prefer. Wrap hair in a ponytail two to three times depending on hair thickness, making sure to never pull hair out of the ponytail completely.
Then pull bun from the middle, making it look full and pin any stray hair that may be sticking out.
Finish by spraying hair with a medium to firm hold hairspray. We use Joico Joimist medium or firm hairspray.
We don’t want to leave our guys out! Come to Studio 311 and check out our latest line for men – M Mitch by Paul Mithchell.
Add those finishing touches to your style so you look just as good as your woman does!
We are now carrying OPI Holiday Muppets Collection and also offering The Shellac Nails. Call for an appointment this holiday season and let one of our talented stylists help you look your best.
