Hazel R. Ferguson, 78, of South Fulton died Dec. 3, 2011, at her residence.
Services were set for today at 2 p.m. at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton, with burial following in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family requests that memorials be made to Baptist Hospice of Union City, 1201 Bishop St., Union City, TN 38261; or Gardner Church of Christ, in care of Ron Roberts, 478 Tom Smith Road, Martin, TN 38237.
She was born April 9, 1933, in Obion County, daughter of the late Legon A. and Beatrice (Arnold) Welch.
She was a homemaker, an employee of the former Merit Clothing Co. of Martin and a retired employee of the former H.I.S. in South Fulton. She was a member of Gardner Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She had lived in Obion County all of her life.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Ronnie Phillips of Martin and Vickie and Eddie Keeling of Hickory, Ky.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Tandi Keeling and Dallen and Courtney Keeling, all of Hickory, LeeAnn and Dustin Rainey of Dresden and Amanda Phillips of Martin; her great-grandchild, Alivia Rainey of Dresden; and three nieces, Joyce Dean of Wood River, Ill., Barbara Crocker of South Fulton and Cheryl Powers of Martin.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Ferguson; her father in-law and mother-in-law, Jordan and Mina Ferguson; three sisters, Edna Davis, Mary Elizabeth Davis and Betty Allen; and two neices.
