Completed arrangements are being announced for Dwight Logan Smith, 64, of Trenton, who died Nov. 28, 2011, at his home. He was the son of Charlotte (Logan) Smith and the brother of Thelbert K. Smith Jr., both of Union City.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. The Revs. Jerry Leggett and Eddie Mallonee will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the hour of services Friday.
Pallbearers will be Jason Arrington, Eric Arrington, B.T. Logan, James Elliott, Dave Elliott and Robert Lockard.
The family requests that memorials be made to Union City Second Baptist Church.
He was born Dec. 15, 1946, in Union City, son of Charlotte Rose (Logan) Smith and the late Thelbert K. “Cotton” Smith. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church near Trenton.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mamie Smith of Union City; two nieces and the husband of one of them, Elaine Smith of Union City and Penny and Dale Burton of South Fulton; his nephew and his wife, Don and Karin Wilson of Orange Park, Fla.; two uncles, Billy Logan of Union City and Joe Logan of Memphis; two great nieces; and two great nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his aunt, Ruthene Arrington.
