Thursday deadline nearing at UT

KNOXVILLE (AP) — The regular application deadline for the 2012-13 academic year at the University of Tennessee’s main campus in Knoxville is Thursday.
Vern Granger, director of undergraduate admissions and assistant dean of enrollment services, encouraged prospective students to show a combination of grades and extracurricular activities, along with personal statements and optional letters of recommendation.
Students who meet the Dec. 1 deadline will be notified of their admission status by March 15.
Nov. 1 was the deadline for incoming freshmen to be considered for competitive scholarships and the Chancellor’s Honors Program.
