STATE CHAMPIONS — Obion County Central High School cheerleaders recently won the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Super Varsity State Championship for 2011-12. The competition was held at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, where the team competed against such schools as Westview High School in Martin, St. Benedict at Auburndale High School in Cordova and Arlington High School. Members of the squad include (front, from left) Shelly Pate, Morgan Rose, Lauren Futhey, Kelsey Craddock, Megan Massey, Allison Wicker, Catherine Clancy, Sabrina Clutter, Johnna Epperson, Kelsea Adams, Chelsea Carter, (middle) Paige Roach, Kelsey Pollard, Leah Korn, Adyee Armour, Makayla Mayse, Carly White, Marissa Howard, Summer London, Rachel O’Steen, Rebecca Lund, (back) Jeriana Grimes, Victoria Stevenson, Maelyn Ray, Emalee Callens, Savannah Snead, Sadye Storey, Lauren Richards, Breah Smith, Amanda Lund, Jordan Epperson, Crystal Brady, Chelsey Taylor, Morgan Grisham, Kristen Scobey, Tatum Cary and Mary Alex Williams. The cheerleaders are coached by David Byars Jr. and Ashleigh Wilds. The next level of competition will be the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) National Cheerleading Competition in February.
