Union City Elementary School will be hosting the annual UCES PTO Christmas Carnival 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the school.
A $5 wristband will cover a wide variety of opportunities for family fun, including crafts, activities, games, an inflatable jumper in the gym and the multipurpose room and an exciting version of “Minute to Win It!”
Lunch items, personalized ornaments and spiritwear will be available for purchase. A silent auction is planned for 12:30 p.m. Unopened items are being sought as donations for the auction. Anyone who has such items is asked to call Becky Burnett at 223-9722.
A bake sale will include many delicious homemade items. To donate sweets for this fund raiser, call Lisa Callicott at 885-7109 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The donation cannot be one that requires refrigeration and it must be labeled with the name of the item and the donor’s name.
A Christmas tree contest is planned in the school library.
Raffles for a DSi and an E-Reader will be held, with chances selling for $1 at school this week and also available for purchase at the carnival. The drawing will be at 12:30 p.m. and the winner does not have to be present to win.
There will also be performances by Chorus Kids, Voices of UCES and the UCMS Chorus, beginning at 11.
Santa will also visit the carnival.
Volunteers are still needed to make the carnival a success. Those who can help may contact Christy Atwill at email@example.com.
