Cold storage facility opens doors in county

A Tupelo, Miss. refrigeration company is expanding into Weakley County.
According to a press release issued by Southern Belle Refrigerated, LLC., the business will soon open its newest location at 165 Old Salem Road at the former location of Gordon Food Services in Martin.
The facility will serve as a cold storage warehouse. The building boasts 147,600 square feet offering 19,975 total pallet capacity positions of product storage.
According to the release, the refrigerated division has the flexibility of meeting 10 different segregated temperature areas at any given time. The modernized facility includes a computerized inventory control system and a 24-hour temperature monitoring alarm system.
Other Southern Belle services include rail shipping/receiving services, blast freezing, USDA-approved import/export services and full distribution capabilities.
The press release cites the company’s vision is COLD: C-Comprehensive blast freeze capabilities; O-Our state-of-the-art inventory control; L-Logistics, distribution and rail services; D-Dedicated, experienced staff.
The company hopes to create 50 new jobs, according to Weakley County Economic Development CEO Ronnie Price.
