The Tennessee Department of Aeronautics, the Everett-Stewart Regional Airport and the University of Tennessee at Martin are hosting an art competition for children and young adults from Obion and Weakley counties. Entries will be accepted by no later than 4 p.m. Dec. 15 at the airport. The work will be displayed at the airport Jan. 2-11 in three categories: 6-9 years old, 10-13 years old and 14-17 years old.
All children in the two counties within those age ranges are invited to participate. Winners will have their work sent to Nashville for the state competition.
The theme will be “Silent Flight” and specific details, guidelines and definitions will be available on the entry form, which is available at ESRA@estewartregionalairport.us or by calling Jo Ann Speer at the airport at 885-1221.
A reception to open the event is planned for 5-6:30 p.m. Jan. 6. The exhibition will be open to the public from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays.
